He was planning on bringing his food from Okinawa to the Tendos and win over maybe a hug from Akane, but when he found himself at Ukyo's door instead he decided this was probably for the best. He and Ukyo had lost out to Akane and Ranma respectively, and while neither one of them really wanted to accept that fact, he was starting to finally tell himself that he loved her enough to let her go for her own happiness. He'd always been able to talk to Ukyo on fairly even terms, maybe because she'd disguised herself as a guy when they first met, so he treated her a bit more like a friend.
"Hey Ukyo, you in?" He opened the door to her Okonomiyaki shop even though it was after hours. She was fairly used to getting visitors like him, Ranma, occasionally even weirdos like Mousse or Happosai, so he hoped she wouldn't mind. He needed a friend to talk to, and Ukyo was probably the closest thing he had to a friend he could talk to about this, since Ranma and Akane were his two closest friends. Kind of a sad state of affairs for him.
"You mind talking for a bit? I don't really have any money, but I did bring gifts from my trip to Hokkaido. Passion fruit, Goya Chanpuru, Black sugar Pocky... Oh and some Soba noodles." All of which said they were from Okinawa if Ukyo cared to examine the packaging, but Ryoga refused to believe he'd gotten that lost!
